CMEA Eastern Regional Music Fesitval Participants

 

Congratulations to the following twenty Enfield High School Choral and Instrumental students for being accepted into the 2023 Connecticut Music Educators Association Eastern Regional Music Festival.  Each of the Enfield musicians auditioned with prepared repertoire that was adjudicated by professional certified musicians under the guidelines of the Student Affairs Commission for the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA).  Through this competitive process, the following students have been accepted into the band, jazz ensemble, mixed chorus, and treble chorus.  They each will be representing Enfield High School at music rehearsals on January 6th and 7th, 2023 followed by public concert at the University of Connecticut on January 7th, 2023, at 2PM.

Concert Band:  Lindsey Ciechowski (Bass Clarinet), Harley Griffin (Bb Clarinet), Anna Bemiss (Euphonium), Abbe Nisula (Flute), Aiden Tetreault (Mallets), Weston Mission (Snare & Accessories), Shaun Sullivan (Snare & Accessories)

Jazz EnsembleRyan Buckley (Trombone)

Treble ChorusKyrah Spruill (Alto), Sadie Minalga (Alto), Kaitlyn Kamay (Alto), Sandhya Sowrirajan (Soprano), and Brooklyn Vega (Soprano)

Mixed Chorus:  Madison Bohan (Alto), Kayla Bouchard (Soprano), Evan DiPietro (Bass), Emily Grenier (Soprano), Haleigh Ketchale (Soprano), Alabama Mattoon (Soprano), Harper Minalga (Soprano)

Participation in the CMEA concert festivals provides students the opportunity to be challenged through the performance of high-quality repertoire and to develop relationships with other high-caliber young musicians from around our state.  This is the highest quantity of students that have been accepted to participate in the festival.  Congratulations for their hard work and effort and bravo to the Enfield Music teachers that assisted with the student’s preparation.  Each student now has the opportunity to further their music education opportunities at the next level and audition for the CMEA All-State Festival this coming February 4th, 2023, at North Haven High School.
