Dr. John Gallacher, Superintendent of Schools has announced that Mark Dube is Enfield Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year for 2004-2005 school year.  This honor will allow Mr. Dube to compete in the Connecticut Teacher of the Year Program.

Mr. Dube is a Physical/Health Education teacher at Enrico Fermi High School.  He attended Enfield Street Elementary School, John F. Kennedy Middle School and Enfield High School.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Connecticut State University.  His professional certifications include Physical/Health Education pre-K – 12, Connecticut Coaching, Red Cross, First Aid and CPR Instruction.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Dube is involved in many extracurricular activities.  These include Head Varsity Baseball Coach, Senior Class Advisor, Peer Mediation Counseling, Fermi High School Talent Show Coordinator and Director, Weight Training Club, Wiffle Ball Club and Homecoming Committee.  He is also the leader of summer and winter baseball camps for players between the ages of five and eighteen.

Mr. Dube has been involved in numerous professional development activities including co-chair of the New England Association of Secondary Schools.  He has also recently attended a Capturing Kids’ Hearts seminar, where school/community programs were developed.
