Annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest

The Annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest has been a longstanding tradition in Enfield as in many districts across CT.  The Enfield Fire Department works in partnership with the Enfield Public Schools Art Department each year to run a poster contest with 4th and 5th grade students.  This year our students created some amazing posters to bring awareness to the importance of fire prevention and fire safety.  Analia Gomez (fifth grade at Parkman) and Alannah Hale (fourth grade at Crandall) created the posters that were selected as Enfield’s district winners (pictured below). Their posters have moved on to the statewide Fire Prevention Poster Contest.  A special thanks to Caroline Trudell and Maria Santarpia for teaching their students that art can have a positive impact on their community and to Ed Shirley and the Enfield Fire Department for carefully selecting this year’s school and district winners.

District Winners:  Addison Vujs and Analia Gomez were selected as the fourth and fifth grade winners at Parkman Elementary School, William Gates and Blake Boucher were selected as the fourth and fifth grade winners at Eli Whitney, and Alannah Hale and Luca Ramsdell were selected as the fourth and fifth grade winners at Prudence Crandall.
